The University Counselor’s Office at Wellspring University is a crucial unit dedicated to the holistic well-being of its student population, functioning under the broader Vice Chancellor’s.

Mission and Role
The primary mission of the Counselling Office is to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where students can seek guidance and assistance for a wide range of personal, social, and academic concerns. It plays an integral part in the university’s commitment to a student-centered approach, ensuring that adequate montoring, guardian, counselling and personal development are prioritized alongside academic achievement.

Key Services Offered
The Counselling Office offers various services to support students’ success and well-being:
* Individual Counselling: Students can access one-on-one sessions with professional counselors to discuss personal challenges such as:
* Stress and Anxiety * Depression * Relationship issues * Grief and loss * Adjustment to university life * Academic Support: The office assists students facing academic difficulties by providing: * Strategies for time management * Guidance on study skills * Coping mechanisms for managing academic pressure  

Social and Personal Development: The office may also be involved in programs or referrals related to:
* Career guidance (often in collaboration with other units)
* Enhancing self-esteem and confidence
* Skill-building workshops
Administration:
* The Student Affairs Division acts as the primary point of contact for students seeking assistance and overall support.
Confidentiality and Access
* The services provided are designed to be confidential, encouraging students to reach out without fear of judgment.
* The university encourages any student experiencing challenges that may impact their studies to utilize the services.

Location:
* The Counselling Office is a direct sub-unit under the Vice Chancellor’s office..
* While it operates closely with Student Affairs, it is also noted as a unit within the Registry Department, which underscores its administrative connection to the core university records and student body.

Dr Egbadon E Flora is an educationist and a Guidance Counsellor whose experience in academia and administration spans over 35 years.

She holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelors degree in Education (History), Masters degree in Education (Guidance and Counselling)and a PhD in Guidance and Counselling.

She has published books and written articles published in journals and has been a part of several conferences. She’s a member of the Guidance and Counselling Association of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Presently, she is the University Counsellor and also a lecturer in the General Studies Department. Her area of interest revolves around moral education and programmes that will reenergise and reenact African norms and values.
