Admission Requirements

Admission through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (4 years Full-Time Degree Programme)

Candidates seeking admission into this department must have:

UTME score as determined.
UTME subject combination - English language, Mathematics, Physics, and one other subject from Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics, or Geography.
Not less than ordinary level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects in WAEC/GCE /NECO/NABTEB or the equivalent in not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one other subject from Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Computer Studies and Further Mathematics.
Admission through Direct Entry (3-years Full-Time Degree programme)

Candidates seeking direct entry admission into this department must have:

Not less than ordinary level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects in WAEC/GCE /NECO/NABTEB or the equivalent in not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one other science subject from Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Computer Studies and Further Mathematics in not more than two sittings. In addition, the candidate must have:
A minimum of two Advanced level passes in GCE/IJMB/JUPEB or its recognized equivalent. The subjects should include Mathematics and any other science subjects.
Ordinary National Diploma (ND) from a recognized institution in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related disciplines.
Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) in Mathematics and any other science subject from a recognized College of Education.
Direct Entry Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board registration.

Dr. Dipo Akomolafe

Dr. Dipo Akomolafe is a Reader and the Acting Head of the Department of Computer Science, Software Engineering and Cyber Security. He has a distinguished academic career, beginning as an Assistant Lecturer at Joseph Ayo Babalola University in 2006, where he was promoted to Lecturer II in 2009. In 2011, he joined Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, as Lecturer I, advancing to Senior Lecturer in 2014. He is currently a Reader at Wellspring University and has been Peer-Reviewed for Qualification (PFQ) as a Professor. Dr. Akomolafe holds multiple degrees, including:

BBA in IT Security from SMC University, Zug, Switzerland

Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science

M.Tech in Computer Science

Ph.D. in Computer Science

Dr. Akomolafe has contributed chapters to various books in the fields of computer science and related disciplines. He has authored numerous journal articles published in reputable local and international journals. His research interests and publications cover a wide range of topics in computing and information technology. An active participant in both national and international conferences, Dr. Akomolafe is dedicated to staying at the forefront of developments in his field. Dr. Akomolafe is a member of several professional bodies, including:

In recognition of his contributions to education, Dr. Akomolafe received the Pillars of Nation Building award from the Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development in 2015, along with a fellowship from the same institute. As the Acting Head of the Department of Computing, Dr. Akomolafe plays a pivotal role in guiding the department's academic and research activities. His leadership is instrumental in fostering an environment of innovation and excellence in the field of computing.
