Department of Public Health

The Department of Public Health at Wellspring University's College of Health Sciences, is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of society, through our Bachelor of Science programme in Public Health. Our focus encompasses a wide range of interventions and strategies aimed at preventing diseases, improving health outcomes, and addressing health disparities in communities. These goals are achieved through comprehensive health education and programming. Public health specialists play a crucial role in assessing community healthcare needs and designing programs based on these assessments. They are instrumental in writing health reports for officials at county or state health departments or for managers at community facilities or hospitals. Additionally, they provide financial resources or seek funding for community health initiatives.

Our Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Health is a four-year program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in key areas such as:

Epidemiology
Biostatistics
Environmental Health
Social and Behavioral Sciences
Health Policy and Health Care Systems

Students gain hands-on experience through Community Health Practices and industrial work experiences in Primary Healthcare Centers from the 200 Level to the 400 Level, preparing them thoroughly for their future careers. Our curriculum is also enhanced by an Internship Program, which provides students with on-the-job experience as part of a community health organisation. This practical training allows our graduates to take on more responsibilities and effectively implement education programs and policies in their professional roles.
