📘 Programme Overview and Philosophy
The B.Sc. Human Anatomy program is built upon a philosophy of blending theoretical instruction with intensive laboratory experimentation. The core objective is to produce graduates who possess a deep cognitive understanding of human biology alongside a mastery of diagnostic and investigative skills.
Through this program, you will:
Master the intricate structural organization of the human body from macroscopy (Gross Anatomy) down to molecular levels (Histology and Histochemistry).
Gain proficiency in cutting-edge laboratory techniques, including tissue processing, cell culture, and forensic visualization.
Develop an entrepreneurial mindset within the life sciences, preparing you to launch ventures in medical illustration, 3D anatomical modeling, or laboratory diagnostics.
In line with standard NUC guidelines, the duration of the undergraduate program depends on your point of entry:
⏱️ Program Duration
Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Candidates: Four (4) Academic Sessions (8 Semesters). This standard track provides an intensive grounding in the natural sciences during your first year before specializing in full biomedical training.
Direct Entry (DE) Candidates: Three (3) Academic Sessions (6 Semesters). Designed for students entering with advanced credentials (such as A-Levels, Jupeb, or a relevant national diploma) who transition directly into the 200-level core curriculum.
Admission Requirements
1. UTME Entry Requirements
O' Level: A minimum of five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent (WAEC/GCE/NECO/NABTEB) in not more than two sittings. The compulsory subjects are: English Language | Mathematics | Biology | Chemistry | One other subject from Physics, Food and Nutrition, or Agricultural Science.
UTME Entry Requirements
UTME Subject Combination
The required UTME subjects are: English Language | Biology | Chemistry | Either Physics or Mathematics.
