About

The College of Social and Management Sciences started as one of the two foundation Colleges of the university at its inception in 2009. It currently comprises the following Six (6) departments which run Ten (10) programmes:

The Department of Accounting runs programmes in Accounting and Taxation. The Department of Business Administration runs programmes in Business Administration, Entrepreneurial Studies and Human Resource Management.  The Department of Economics runs a programme in Economics. The Department of International Relations runs programmes in International Relations and, Criminology and Security Studies. The Department of Mass Communication runs a programme in Mass communication and the Department of Public Administration runs a programme in Public Administration.

All the programmes are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the relevant professional bodies.

 

Meet the Dean

Steve Amiemenkharu, Iyayi is Professor of Public Administration and the Dean of College of Social and Management Sciences (CSMS) Wellspring University, Benin City. He was previously Head of Department of International Relations

 He holds the Ph. D (Public Administration) M.Sc. (International Relations), M.Sc.  (Corporate Governance) and B.A. (History) degrees  Prof Iyayi , earlier had a successful career with the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi where he was Registrar for 10 years, 2001 to 2011. He later taught in that institution and was between July 2006 and September 2009, a visiting Lecturer to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Professor Iyayi is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He is a Google Scholar and has published extensively, locally and internationally. He has also attended many local and international conferences and workshops at which he presented papers. He is a reviewer to International Relations and Diplomacy Journal, USA and has served as a facilitator to National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for supervision of Masters Degree theses in Public Administration
