About
The Department of Accounting is one of the foundation courses of the College of Social and Management Sciences (CSMS) of Wellspring University.
The department offers a four-year distinct degree programme leading to the award of B.Sc. degree in Accounting. This programme is designed to provide both academic and professional base from which graduates may continue their personal, academic and professional development as they assume managerial responsibilities in either public or private sectors of the society
The department currently enjoys full accreditation of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Meet the Department Head
Dr. Robert Eke is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head, Department of Accounting, College of Social and Management Science, Wellspring University Benin-City, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a Chartered Accountant whose experience spans from government parastatal to banking industry before joining the Academia.
He holds B.Sc in Accounting with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from University of Lagos, Lagos State. In addition he hold M.Sc and P.hD in Finance from University of Benin, Edo State. He has been involved in several research work, the outcome of which has been published in both local and foreign journals. He has attended and presented papers in local and international conferences.
Dr Eke is an Accountant with specialization in Corporate and Public Sector financial management. He is currently involved in research work aimed at improving financial management techniques of Small and medium scale enterprises in Nigeria.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria.
