General Admission Requirements

  • At least five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings in the SSCE or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics (plus the subjects specified for each college below).
  • Submission of official academic transcripts.
  • A valid NYSC Discharge, Exemption or Exclusion Certificate.
College of Social & Management Sciences

SSCE subjects: English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects.

Ph.D.Accounting
  • An M.Sc. in Accounting with a minimum weighted average of 60% from a recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Accounting
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline with at least Second Class Honours, from a recognised university.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting or a related discipline from a recognised university.
PGDAccounting
  • A minimum of a Third Class Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CIBN, CITN) and HND holders from a recognised institution.
Ph.D.Economics
  • An M.Sc. in Economics with a minimum weighted average of 60% from Wellspring University or any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Economics
  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics with at least Second Class Honours, from a recognised university.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in a cognate discipline from a recognised university.
PGDEconomics
  • A minimum of a Third Class Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CIBN, CITN) and HND holders from a recognised institution.
Ph.D.Business Administration
  • An M.Sc. in Business Administration with a minimum weighted average of 60% from Wellspring University or any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.

  • An MBA with a minimum weighted average of 60% from any recognised university.

M.Sc.Business Administration
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognised university.
MBAMaster of Business Admin.
  • A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma from a recognised university.
PGDBusiness Management
  • A minimum of a Third Class Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Or relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CIBN, CITN) and HND holders from a recognised institution.
PGDHuman Resource Mgmt.
  • A minimum of a Third Class Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Or relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CIBN, CITN) and HND holders from a recognised institution.
Ph.D.Int. Relations & Diplomacy
  • An M.Sc. in International Relations and Diplomacy with a minimum weighted average of 60% from any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Int. Relations & Diplomacy
  • A Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy or a related Social Science discipline with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy or a related discipline from a recognised university.
PGDInternational Relations
  • A Third Class degree from a recognised university.
  • Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
Ph.D.Mass Communication
  • An M.Sc. in Mass Communication with a minimum weighted average of 60% from any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Mass Communication
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication or a related discipline with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication or a related discipline from a recognised university.
PGDMass Communication
  • A Bachelor's degree not below Third Class in Journalism, Mass Communication or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
College of Science & Computing

Computing SSCE subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two other science subjects. Biological Sciences SSCE subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Ph.D.Computer Science
  • An M.Sc. in Computer Science with a minimum weighted average of 60% from Wellspring University or any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Computer Science
  • A first degree with at least Second Class Honours in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science from a recognised university.
M.Sc.Cyber Security
  • A first degree with at least Second Class Honours in Cyber Security or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from a recognised university.
M.Sc.Software Engineering
  • A first degree with at least Second Class Honours in Software Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from a recognised university.
PGDComputer Science
  • A minimum of a Third Class Honours Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
PGDCyber Security
  • A minimum of a Third Class Honours Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
PGDSoftware Engineering
  • A minimum of a Third Class Honours Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Ph.D.Microbiology
  • An M.Sc. in Microbiology with a minimum weighted average of 60% from Wellspring University or any recognised university.
  • Candidates scoring between 55% and 60% first enrol for the M.Phil., migrating to the Ph.D. on attaining 60% in the prescribed coursework.
M.Sc.Microbiology
  • A Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related discipline with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Or a Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology or a related discipline from a recognised university.
PGDMicrobiology
  • A Bachelor's degree (minimum Third Class) in a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution.
College of Health Sciences

SSCE subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

M.Sc.Nursing Science
  • A Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.) degree from a recognised university with at least Second Class Honours.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practising licence issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Specialisations
  • Pathways offered (subject to cohort availability): Medical-Surgical Nursing; Community Health Nursing; Maternal and Child Health Nursing; Nursing Education; Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.
