Wellspring University gets NUC full accreditation for Nursing and other programmes

Going by the outcome of the latest accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Wellspring University has again demonstrated its readiness to occupy a leading position among Nigerian private and public universities in no distant time.

The cheery news, as announced to the media by Wellspring University Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Rotimi Ajayi FNIP, was conveyed in a letter dated 30th April, 2025 and signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu for the National Secretary of NUC, in which the regulatory body granted full accreditation to Wellspring University’s Nursing Science, Public Health, Information Technology and Biochemistry programmes, signifying that the university remains qualified to offer these programmes to willing candidates without any encumbrances, and that certificates obtained from the programmes are recognized globally while graduates of the programmes are eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

Prior to the latest NUC accreditation, Wellspring University had obtained the full accreditation of its nursing programme from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), the body that regulates nursing and midwifery practice in Nigeria. And in March 2025, the university also got the full accreditation of the Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN) for its Bachelor’s degree programmes in the College of Science and Computing, which include B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Cybersecurity, B.Sc. Information Technology and B.Sc. Software Engineering.

The elated Vice Chancellor expressed confidence that Wellspring University had what it takes produce future-ready graduates who, armed with the essential skills to compete favourably in the 4th Industrial Revolution, would conveniently place the university among the world’s leading universities and lead their peers in the sphere of entrepreneurship.
