(M.SC.) ACCOUNTING

MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.SC.) DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING

The department of Accounting offers the M.Sc. Programme in Accounting to train academic and research staff for the Universities, Polytechnics/Colleges of Education and various public and private sectors establishments

 

Wellspring University Master’s degree programme in accounting strive to:

  • Inculcate the requisite intellectual and theoretical foundations that would permit a meaningful participation in the discussion and resolution of the problems which confront the accounting profession in the contemporary world;
  • Encourage research into problems, which impede the maximum contribution of the Accounting profession to national development and integration.

PERIOD OF STUDY

The duration of the programme for accounting graduates on Full-Time studies shall be a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters. All M.Sc. programmes in Accounting are on Full-Time basis. There is no part-time programme.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the Master’s programme requires a Bachelor’s degree from National University Commission’s approved university with at least a second class Honours or equivalent. The degree must be in accounting or other related disciplines. The minimal pre-requisites for entry into the M.Sc. in accounting programme will be those stipulated for the accounting graduates of the Wellspring University. The regulations of the Postgraduates School shall govern the M.Sc. in accounting programme.

 

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

The course runs Full-Time i.e. four semesters minimum.

 

PROGAMME REQUIREMENTS

Registration Procedure

Students shall normally complete for courses for the semester not later than two weeks after the start of the semester. A student cannot withdraw from a course after five weeks of lectures in a given Semester without permission from the Coordinator of Post Graduate School

A student who withdraws after this time or who fails to seek for permission from the Coordinator of Post Graduate School shall be deemed to have failed that course

 

A Student who fails to sit for more than two courses at the end of a given semester shall be deemed to have voluntarily withdrawn from the programme
