Wellspring University is an affiliate member of Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB)

The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten partnering Nigerian Universities, led by the University of Lagos.

The Board has the responsibility of conducting common and standard examinations for candidates who have been exposed to a minimum of one-year approved courses in the different Universities Foundation and/or Diploma Programmes and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into University courses at the 200 Level in Nigerian and partnering foreign tertiary institutions.

To be an outstanding examinations body that will conduct common, standard and credible examinations based on a world-class curriculum, for candidates seeking Direct Entry admissions into Nigeria and foreign-based tertiary institutions.

To facilitate Direct Entry admissions into various University courses globally by conducting credible examinations for candidates taught on a qualitative and well-balanced curriculum.

The current affiliate universities include Wellspring University, Irhirhi Road, Benin City, Edo State.

Each student is expected to take a combination of any three of the subjects listed below:

1. Law, Mass Communication, Arts

Government, History, Economics, Christian Religions Studies, French, Literature in English

2. Social and Management Sciences

Financial Accounting, Mathematics, Business Studies, Literature, Biology, Christian Religions Studies, Geography, Economics, Government

3. Medicine, Pharmacy

Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics

4. Engineering, Environmental Sciences

Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics

5. Computer, Information and Communication Technology

Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics

6. Applied and Natural Sciences

Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics

Students are expected to pass the Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT) administered by the University and the terminal examination conducted by JUPEB in June/July each year.

The entry qualifications include WAEC SSCE; NECO SSCE; GCE O/Level; NABTEB or equivalent. UTME result is not required.
