  • Wellspring University (WU) collaborating with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

Partnering with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),
Kumasi, Ghana

Our collaboration with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) didn't come by accident. We made a rigorous search for suitable collaborators. We sought for foreign universities with high academic rating and other international best standards criteria that satisfy our vision, mission, goals and objectives. Of all the leading universities identified within and outside our West African sub-region, KNUST topped the list.

It was therefore mission accomplished when Wellspring University (WU) and KNUST signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 4, 2011. This partnership, which is under the supervision of NUC, enables KNUST and WU to jointly offer courses leading to the award of international degrees.

With this initiative, Wellspring University has become one of the first among Nigerian universities that will be awarding joint degrees with an internationally recognized university.

WU and KNUST are committed to providing quality borderless university education which satisfies the aspirations and yearnings of today's learners. The programme gives participants the opportunity to interact and network with other citizens of the world and exposes them to alternative but complementary framework for learning.

Facts about KNUST

KNUST was founded in 1961 by the great African leader, late Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. The vision of the founder, which is at the core of the university, is to spread quality technology-based university education to every part of our African continent. It is therefore not surprising that all the Colleges, Faculties and Schools in KNUST are technology-driven.

The university, which has some of the best faculty members in the world, has the following ratings:

  • KNUST is the Number 1 University in Ghana.
  • KNUST is the Number 1 University in West Africa.
  • KNUST is ranked as the 17th leading university in Africa.
  • KNUST is one of the two Africa universities rated among the top 500 universities in the world. (The rankings agencies include the National Universities Commission)
